Archie is a 5 month old shorthair kitten. A woman from Harper Woods called GPAAS for help with a stray kitten who's head was stuck in a can. We went over to her house to get the cat. When we arrived the woman told us she was able to remove the can but the kitten was so scared he ran away into the woman's sump pump. We pulled up the lid to the sump expecting to see a very wet kitty but to our surprise nothing was there. We realized he had climbed into the plastic drainage pipe and there was no way to get him out. A live trap was set and three hours later the woman called back to tell us the kitten had been caught.
After getting the poor boy back to the shelter we realized he had an upper respiratory infection. We were completely unable to handle the cat to medicate him. Lucky for us Archie would eat some moist canned food that we were able to put his medication in. He is feeling much better now.
It has been 1 week since we got Archie and he will finally let us pet him. He purrs and rolls on his back but still needs further socialization.
We are desperately seeking a foster home and or loving home for this little guy to further socialize him to make him a confidant house cat.
