How can I adopt a pet?
GPAAS requires that all potential adopters complete an Adoption Application. They are then interviewed by an adoption counselor to determine their compatibility with the pet they wish to adopt, or to suggest types of pets that would work well for their living environment.
What types of pets does GPAAS have for adoption?
GPAAS places indoor, family companion pets only with appropriate temperament. These pets include dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs and birds.
Will I be able to take home a pet on the day of the adoption?
It depends on the pet selected. Most pets have completed their veterinary care and if approved for adoption, the pet can go home that day.
Where do the pets for adoption come from?
GPAAS has a variety of pets, some owner relinquishments, some strays found by residents of the community, and many are unclaimed animals from our Animal Protection Facility.
What kinds of volunteer help does GPAAS need and how can I volunteer to help?
GPAAS still needs foster home providers and always seeks those willing to foster pets in need. Other assistance includes special projects, fundraising, helping at our Animal Protection Facility as well as the Adoption Center, dog walking as well as play time and other animal enrichments are all very valuable.
